The first part is devoted to a particular type of mathematical statement, called "thesis". The interest and the function of this type of statement emerged from the semiotic conditions necessary for the application of Löwenheim-Skolem theorem to the axioms of Zermelo. The second part gives an example of "expression problem" in mathematics. The example comes from the Disquisitiones Arithmeticae of Gauss and gives a semiotic interpretation of the use of sets in mathematics.Cet article propose deux exemples d'analyse sémiotique de l'expression de la généralité en mathématiques. La première partie est consacrée à un type particulier d'énoncé mathématique, appelé "thèse". L'intérêt et la fonction de ce type d'affirmation provient des conditions sémiotiques nécessaires à l'application du théorème de Löwenheim-Skolem aux axiomes de Zermelo.
