Cognitive semantics and diachronic semantics : the values and evolution of classes
Résumé : The theory of prototypes is the best known contribution of cognitive semantics to lexical semantics. Yet, due to the very fact of its universalism, it does not succeed in defining the specific lexical classes of different languages, nor in accounting for diachronic evolution.
